2005 Northern California Trip

We flew into San Francisco on 7/1/2005 (photos).  On 7/2, we drove south along the coast through Santa Cruz to Monterey, and continued through Big Sur to Cambria on 7/3 (coast photos).  On 7/4, we visited the incredible Hearst Castle attraction (photos).  We then drove inland to the Sierra Nevada mountains, and had 3 full days in Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Park (photos) and 4 full days in Yosemite National Park (photos).  We then drove the entire length of Tioga Road through Tioga Pass to exit Yosemite at the eastern gate.  Our route took us past Mono Lake, northward through Nevada to Lake Tahoe (photos).  Finally, we drove through Sacramento (where we saw our older daughter, who was on a cross-country bus trip) and back to San Francisco for our 7/15/2005 flight back home.

After 2 weeks of scenic splendor and gorgeous Northern California weather, it was truly difficult to return to our East Coast reality, not to mention work !!!
